Volunteer Opportunities
Childcare
Spend time with our young children and new babies while moms are attending meetings on site at Our Lady’s Inn. Childcare volunteers supervise children ages 6 weeks to 12 years for approximately one hour at a time in reserved play areas inside or outside. Childcare volunteers will be provided with games, toys, and activities. Must be 16 years old or 13 years old with parent or guardian present.
Office and Clerical
Volunteers help answer phones, greet visitors, make copies, and sort mail in the front office. Volunteers will likely work alongside staff and volunteers but must be comfortable working independently at a moment’s notice. Clerical volunteers must have communication skills and be comfortable multitasking. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
Donations
Volunteers organize clothing donations in storage rooms including folding, hanging, and stacking. This position includes walking up and down stairs, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Donation sorting volunteers work mostly independently.
Meal Preparation
Our Lady’s Inn prepares and serves three meals per day for residents. Volunteers will be expected to follow recipes, chop, sauté, bake, and serve meals to feed approximately 20-30 people. Volunteers must follow safety guidelines outlined in Volunteer Orientation. Volunteers must be 16 years old or 13 years old with parent or guardian present.
Twice Blessed Resale Shop
The Twice Blessed Resale Shop is owned and operated by Our Lady’s Inn and located one block from our St. Louis location at 3312 Meramec, St. Louis, MO 63118. We are in need of your new or gently used children’s and women’s clothing, shoes, jewelry, purses, seasonal items, and home decor. The shop is also in need of volunteers to work in the store, sorting donations and preparing items for sale. Email Lucy or call (314) 481-3332 or for more information.
Special Events
You can play a role in helping us with fundraising events by joining one of our event committees. Tasks include: securing auction items, sponsorships and attendees; assemble auction items and centerpieces; or help at the event with set up, cleaning up or with various activities during the event. Maintenance Work
If you have any of the following skills: professional plumbing, professional painting, yard work, cleaning, etc. we can use your help at various times throughout the year. Our maintenance opportunities often arise with little time to recruit for volunteers. Call 314-736-1544 for more information.
Host a Fundraising Event
Individuals, families, businesses, churches, schools, and other groups can hold their own fundraisers for Our Lady’s Inn. These might include trivia nights, social events, collection drives, or a baby shower to collect items for the moms, children, and babies at the Inn.
